    Preliminary Description:

0-31 cm: wet silty sand with sparse mm black pebbles.

mm-thick dark laminae are present from 14.5 cm to the bottom section.

Color: dark grayish brown (2.5Y 4/2).

31-47 cm:wet olive brown (2.5Y 4/3) silty sand with mm-thick black pebbles. Chromatic lower contact

47-54 cm: wet dark gray (5y 4/1) silty sand with mm-thick black pebbles. Lower contact gradational

54-62 cm: wet very dark gray (5y 3/1) sandy silt with diffuse mm to cm-thick (27-30cm) black pebbles.

62-79 cm: wet dark gray (5y 4/1) silty sand with black pebbles mainly mm-thick. At 62-64 cm and 72 cm pebbles cm-thick. A very dark gray (5y 3/1) oblique level at 67/73-68/74 cm. Sharp lower contact.

79-92cm: wet grayish brown (2.5Y 5/2) sand with sparse pebbles from mm to pluri-cm thick (87-88 cm; 91-92 cm)

92-112.5 cm: compact light olive gray (2.5Y 5/3) mud with oxidized spots. At 111-112 cm a layer of light olive brown (2.5Y 5/6) mud

112.5-131 cm: very compacted mud characterized by mm to cm-thick horizons/layers of different colors. A 2cm-thick pebble at 113-115 cm.

112.5-120 cm: dark greenish gray (Gley 1 4/10GY)

    120-120.2 cm: dark gray (Gley1 4/N)

120.2-128 cm: dark greenish gray (Gley 1 4/10Y)

128-129 cm: dark greenish gray (Gley 1 4/10GY)

    129-131cm: dark greenish gray (Gley 1 4/10Y)

131-167 cm: gray (5Y 5/1) clayey mud with some small black spots. At 156 cm a sandy black patch. Gradational lower contact.

167-173 cm:  sandy mud. Gradational lower contact.

173-186 cm: compact gray (5Y 5/1) sand with sparse pebbles and dark greenish gray (Gley 1 4/5GY) silty sand patches. Gradational lower contact.

186-199 cm: wet gray (5Y 5/1) coarser sand with mm to cm-thick pebbles (see 189-190 cm). Lower contact is sharp and very irregular

199-214.5 cm: very compact dark greenish gray (Gley 1 4/10GY) mud with spots until 3-4 cm sandy patches. Lower sharp contact

214.5-231 cm: recognizable 10 mm—thick  grayish green (Gley 1 4/5G) mud laminae alternated to dark greenish gray (Gley 1 4/10Y to Gley 1 4/10GY)) mud sandy spots

The core catcher is 9 cm long (232-241cm)

The outer part is oxizided (Gley 1 10y 4/1 – dark greenish gray). The inner part is dark bluish gray (Gley 2 5B 4/1). The sediment is a hard silty-sandy mud stiff in some places.
